Zamboanga Peninsula Records 82.59% Voter Turnout in Peaceful, Incident-Free Elections

ZAMBOANGA CITY — The Zamboanga Peninsula achieved a voter turnout of 82.59 percent in the recently concluded national and local elections, according to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC).

Despite minor scuffles reported in a few areas, the region remained largely peaceful on Election Day, with no major election-related incidents recorded, based on the report from the Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Authorities attributed the calm and orderly conduct of the polls to the early deployment of security forces, proactive coordination among government agencies, and the collective efforts of candidates and communities to ensure a safe and credible electoral process.

The update was formally presented during the Kapihan sa Rehiyon Nueve media forum, attended by representatives from the AFP WestMinCom, Area Police Command Philippine National Police (PNP), COMELEC, and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

Officials lauded the cooperation of the public and expressed optimism that future elections will continue to uphold peace, order, and democratic integrity across the region.
