Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur — In a move to strengthen public cooperation and reinforce trust in law enforcement, the Provincial Government of Zamboanga del Sur awarded cash incentives to two anonymous informants whose crucial information led to the successful arrest of three of the province’s most wanted individuals.

The awarding ceremony was held recently at the Zamboanga del Sur Provincial Capitol and attended by key officials from the Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office (ZSPPO) and representatives of the Provincial Government. The brief but meaningful event highlighted the importance of community engagement in maintaining peace and order across the region.

According to ZSPPO, the actionable intelligence provided by the tipsters directly contributed to the apprehension of high-profile fugitives wanted for serious criminal offenses. Their arrests were carried out in separate operations made possible through the collaboration between the police and the civilian informants.

Governor Divina Grace Yu, in a statement, commended the bravery and vigilance of the public in stepping forward to assist law enforcement. “This initiative is a testament to our shared responsibility in safeguarding our communities. By recognizing the efforts of concerned citizens, we hope to inspire more people to take an active role in crime prevention,” the governor said.

The Provincial Government reiterated its commitment to support the police in ensuring the safety and security of all Zamboangueños. The reward system is part of a broader strategy to encourage public participation and to strengthen the synergy between the government and the communities it serves.

ZSPPO Provincial Director PCol.Bonifacio Arañas Jr. meanwhile, expressed gratitude for the continued support from the local government and emphasized the significance of sustained collaboration in achieving long-term peace and order.

As authorities continue to pursue other fugitives and dismantle criminal networks, the provincial government assured that informants whose tips result in successful operations will likewise be acknowledged and rewarded.

This program serves as a reminder that when citizens and law enforcement work hand in hand, communities become safer, and justice is more effectively served.
