Widespread Rains and Thunderstorms to Persist Across Mindanao – PAGASA Warns of Possible Flooding, Landslides

Mindanao | July 14, 2025 – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a weather bulletin warning of sustained rainshowers and thunderstorms across various provinces in Mindanao due to the continued influence of the Southwest Monsoon, locally known as Habagat.

In its 5:00 AM forecast, PAGASA reported that the Zamboanga Peninsula and Northern Mindanao will experience widespread cloudy skies with intermittent to continuous rains and thunderstorms throughout the day. Residents in these areas are advised to remain vigilant as moderate to heavy rainfall may result in flash floods and landslides, particularly in low-lying and mountainous communities.

Other regions in Mindanao—including the Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, and parts of BARMM—will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or localized thunderstorms, which may still pose threats of sudden downpours.
