Underground, Unfiltered: The Rise of NUFSED BAND

From a high school jam session to the depths of the local underground scene, Nufsed has become one of Pagadian City’s most defining deathcore acts. Formed in 2019 in Zamboanga del Sur, the band originally emerged under the name Master Band, the brainchild of guitarist Mark Nebria, with Clyde Tolentino soon joining as drummer. Their first appearance was a simple Battle of the Bands entry, but that initial collaboration quickly transformed into something louder and more lasting.

By 2024, the group evolved into its current lineup with the addition of Kiefer Tagala (guitar), Louie Alforque (bass), and Whicky (vocals). This shift signaled more than just new members it marked a bold move into the brutal and emotionally charged world of deathcore.

The Sound of Nufsed

Originally rooted in emo-punk, Nufsed now thrives in the deathcore genre. Their sonic style is a blend of guttural screams, blast beat drumming, down tuned riffs, and lyrical intensity. Deathcore, known for fusing death metal brutality with hardcore breakdowns, is the perfect vehicle for Nufsed’s introspective yet aggressive sound. While their instrumentals speak of chaos, their lyrics dive into deeply personal themes betrayal, inner conflict, and existential reflection.

Their influences span both old-school emo-punk and contemporary deathcore/metalcore acts, creating a sound that is uniquely hybrid and emotionally compelling.

Originals: Unreleased but Unforgettable

Although they haven’t yet released a full studio album, Nufsed’s live performances often feature original tracks that have developed a loyal following:

  • Jacob's Promise

  • Traitor

  • Einstein

  • Manipulator

  • DUDA

Each song is a glimpse into the band’s emotional and philosophical core, delivering intensity both musically and thematically.
