PAGADIAN CITY — The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 9, in coordination with the Land Transportation Office (LTO), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), and other government agencies, conducted a surprise random drug testing on approximately 500 tricycle, van, and bus drivers at the Integrated Bus Terminal–Annex in Barangay Sta. Lucia, Pagadian City, on October 30.

The initiative, dubbed “Oplan Harabas,” forms part of PDEA’s nationwide campaign to ensure public safety during the Undas (All Saints’ Day) observance, when thousands of commuters are expected to travel.

As of 9:00 a.m., one public utility vehicle (PUV) driver reportedly tested positive during the initial screening. PDEA, however, clarified that the result remains subject to confirmatory testing before any further action is taken.

The agency emphasized that the operation aims to promote road safety, protect commuters, and prevent accidents linked to illegal drug use among drivers.
