Zamboanga del Sur — Thousands of agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) across the Zamboanga Peninsula celebrated a major milestone as the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) awarded land titles, Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage (COCROMs), and various agricultural assistance during a region-wide consultation and Project SPLIT E-Title Distribution held on October 29, 2025, at the Mega Gym, Provincial Government Center, Pagadian City.

The event, led by DAR Secretary Conrado M. Estrella III, was attended by Zamboanga del Sur Governor Divina Grace Yu, Vice Governor Roseller Ariosa, several municipal mayors, and representatives from various national government agencies.

A total of over 1,500 land titles, 2,000 COCROMs, and ₱49.17 million worth of farm support were distributed to qualified beneficiaries from the provinces of Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Zamboanga del Norte. The assistance package included 28 units of farm machineries and equipment (FMEs), 768 ready-to-lay (RTL) chickens, and 23,532 agricultural inputs, all aimed at enhancing the productivity and livelihood of agrarian reform communities.

Secretary Estrella underscored that the initiative reflects the Marcos administration’s commitment to empower farmers through land ownership, mechanization, and sustainable livelihood programs.

“Ang pagkakaloob ng mga titulo at kagamitan ay hindi lamang nagbibigay ng seguridad sa lupa, kundi nagbibigay din ng bagong pag-asa at oportunidad para sa ating mga magsasaka na maging mas produktibo at mapabuti ang kanilang kabuhayan,” Estrella said.

The farm productivity and livelihood support programs form part of DAR’s continuing efforts to complement its land distribution initiatives under Project SPLIT (Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling). The project aims to strengthen individual land ownership and promote mechanized, market-driven agricultural enterprises across agrarian communities.

With these interventions, DAR hopes to accelerate rural development, improve food security, and foster economic resilience among farming families in the region.
