The Supreme Court has ordered Presidential Adviser Larry Gadon, Rep. Percy Cendaña, and political analyst Richard Heydarian to respond within 10 days to petitions for indirect contempt. The cases stem from their critical remarks against the High Court’s decision to dismiss the impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Duterte.

Petitioners accused the three of undermining the judiciary through public statements and media appearances. The Court stressed that while freedom of expression is protected, it must not be used to erode public trust in the judiciary.

If found guilty of indirect contempt, they may face fines or jail time. The case adds to the growing debate on the limits of public criticism against judicial rulings in a politically charged environment.
