Rep. Eddie Villanueva of CIBAC Party-list Urges All Government Branches to Comply with President Marcos’ Lifestyle Check Directive

CIBAC Party-list Representative Eddie Villanueva has called on all branches of government the legislative, judiciary, constitutional commissions, local governments, and other agencies to comply with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to conduct lifestyle checks on public officials.

Villanueva emphasized that this initiative is crucial to ensuring that public funds are not siphoned off for personal gain, highlighting its importance in upholding transparency, accountability, and public trust in government institutions.

The lawmaker expressed his full support for the President’s order to scrutinize the lifestyles of top officials in the executive branch, particularly in light of ongoing controversies surrounding questionable flood control projects. He noted that the measure is a vital step toward restoring accountability within government.

However, Villanueva underscored that the lifestyle check must be comprehensive, honest, and sustained not a mere symbolic action to genuinely hold accountable those who may have illegally amassed wealth.
