The Philippine National Police (PNP) has assured its readiness to provide security as the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI) begins its investigation into alleged irregularities in government flood control and other infrastructure projects.

Acting PNP Chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the police force has sufficient personnel to ensure the safety of the commission members throughout the probe.

On Thursday, the ICI started its site inspections in Quezon City, visiting four of the more than 300 flood control projects in the city.
