The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has assured the public that it is prioritizing the swift movement of relief goods through seaports as the country braces for the possible impact of Typhoon Paolo.

PPA General Manager Jay Santiago said all major ports remain fully operational and undamaged despite the recent 6.9-magnitude earthquake in Cebu. He emphasized that the agency has already activated its typhoon contingency measures, directing all Port Management Offices nationwide to secure facilities and equipment in anticipation of severe weather conditions.

In coordination with the Philippine Coast Guard, the PPA has also ordered priority handling of shipments containing relief supplies to ensure timely delivery to affected communities. Santiago stressed that ports remain open and ready to support emergency response operations.
