Love and commitment took center stage as sixty couples officially sealed their union during the “Kasalan ng Bayan 2026” spearheaded by the Local Government Unit of Pagadian City in celebration of Valentine’s Day.

The mass wedding was held last Saturday at C3 Mall, where couples exchanged vows and began their lives together as legally married partners. The event formed part of the city’s annual Valentine’s Day activities, emphasizing not only romance but also responsible and lawful family formation.

Mayor Sammy Co served as the solemnizing officer, with members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod, including Councilors Lance Co, Bien Culve, and Jigger Ariosa, in attendance.

In his message, Mayor Co reminded the couples that marriage is more than a celebration of love. “It is a lifelong responsibility that requires understanding, patience, humility, and mutual respect,” he said, stressing that strong families are the foundation of a progressive community.

The Kasalan ng Bayan is a continuing initiative of the city government to provide free and accessible marriage services, including document processing and other legal requirements. The program aims to help couples formalize their union, ensuring legal rights and protection for their families.

More than a Valentine’s Day event, Kasalan ng Bayan 2026 symbolized unity, hope, and the city’s commitment to strengthening families as pillars of Pagadian’s development.
