As the nation prepares for the 2025 National and Local Elections on May 12, the Pagadian City Police Station, in partnership with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), conducted a pre-deployment briefing and send-off ceremony for security personnel assigned to ensure a peaceful and credible electoral process.

PLTCOL Jerwin SD Cagurin, Chief of the Pagadian City Police Station, and City Election Officer IV Atty. Jed M. Labador spearheaded the ceremony, highlighting the vital role of law enforcement and election officers in safeguarding democracy. The solemn event was officiated by Rev. Fr. Rey L. Caterbas, who led a prayer for the safety and integrity of all personnel.

The send-off marks the final stage of preparation for these men and women in uniform who have undergone extensive training to handle various election-related duties. These include securing polling precincts, escorting election materials, and responding promptly to any untoward incidents.

“This is not just about maintaining order, but about protecting the voice of the people,” said PLTCOL Cagurin during his address. “Our personnel are ready and committed to uphold the integrity of the elections.”

Atty. Labador echoed the importance of collaboration between the police and COMELEC, emphasizing that transparency, fairness, and public trust must be preserved throughout the electoral process.

The event concluded with a ceremonial salute and deployment signal, sending a strong message to the public: Pagadian City is ready to hold a safe, orderly, and credible election.
