Over 100 Learners of Caputol Elementary School in Aloran, Misamis Occidental Benefit from ‘Serbisyo Caravan’

More than 100 young learners from Caputol Integrated School in Aloran, Misamis Occidental were the latest beneficiaries of the “Serbisyo Caravan para sa mga Kabataan,” a heartwarming outreach program led by RMN DXPR Pagadian and the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) Zamboanga del Sur Chapter, held on Friday, July 18, 2025.

The initiative, designed to bring essential services directly to underserved communities, transformed a regular school day into an uplifting event filled with care, laughter, and support.

The Caravan, spearheaded by KBP Zamboanga del Sur Chairman Melchor U. Coronel, delivered a wide range of services including hot meals, vitamins, school supplies, hygiene kits, and a special treat: free ice cream for all. Teachers also received portable solar lights to assist in delivering quality education, particularly in areas with unreliable electricity.

This meaningful effort was made possible through the collaboration of Radio Mindanao Network (RMN) Foundation, the 1st Field Artillery “Beat ‘Em” Battalion, AAR, PA, the 1st Cavalry “Tagapanguna” Battalion, the 1st Civil Military Operations “Mahigalaon” Battalion, and the Social Paraclete Association Zamboanga del Sur Chapter.

To further enhance the experience, uniformed personnel from the Philippine Army provided free haircuts to the boys, while parlor games and fun-filled activities encouraged interaction, teamwork, and enjoyment among the students.

Caputol Integrated School Principal Mr. Nilo Tubio expressed sincere appreciation to the organizers, acknowledging the significant impact the program had on the school community.

“This was more than just an outreach activity it was an act of generosity and compassion,” Tubio shared. “The fact that these groups journeyed nearly three hours from Pagadian, traveling 126 kilometers, just to serve our students, speaks volumes about their dedication.”

The Serbisyo Caravan continues to champion its mission of reaching out to remote schools and uplifting lives through direct and meaningful assistance. Organizers aim to expand its reach even further, proving that when the media, military, and civic groups unite, they can spark change where it’s needed most.

In a time when many communities remain on the margins, this caravan served as a moving reminder that hope and kindness can still travel far and light up even the most distant classrooms.
