Mayor Sebastian Duterte files criminal raps over alleged illegal arrest of ex-President Duterte

Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte, through his legal counsel, has lodged kidnapping and other criminal complaints before the Office of the Ombudsman against several Cabinet officials, police generals, a prosecutor, and unidentified John Does in connection with the alleged illegal arrest of former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

According to the filing, the mayor accused the respondents of orchestrating and executing what he described as an unlawful deprivation of liberty against the former chief executive. The complaint seeks accountability from high-ranking officials allegedly involved in the incident, while also calling for further investigation into unidentified individuals linked to the case.

As of press time, the Ombudsman has yet to issue a statement regarding the complaint.
