A law enforcer from the Land Transportation Office (LTO)-9 was rushed to Aisah Medical Hospital after he was struck by a motorcycle while conducting a checkpoint in Barangay San Francisco, Pagadian City, in front of Gaisano Mall. The victim was identified as Casim Purong, a resident of Pagadian City.

In an exclusive interview, LTO team leader Amerol Cuaro explained that their team was conducting a checkpoint near Cabahug Hospital when they attempted to flag down a young man riding a black XRM motorcycle. Instead of stopping, the rider sped past them, prompting the team to alert other enforcers stationed ahead.

Purong then tried to block the suspect, but the rider ignored the signal and rammed into him, causing the enforcer to suffer a fracture in his left leg.

Authorities later discovered that the motorcyclist had multiple violations and had attempted to evade the checkpoint.

The rider is now in police custody, while the Pagadian City Police Station continues its investigation into the incident.
