Kemberly Resentes: Her Quiet OPM Rise After Loss and Redirection

Kemberly Resentes, the young voice behind several heartfelt Bisaya and OPM tracks, has been working silently for the past 11 years. Her journey began humbly at the age of 4, with nothing but a deep love for music and a powerful dream.

In 2014, at just 11 years old, she recorded her first debut single “Ang Ganda Kung Ina” under the guidance of her beloved former manager, Mr. Robert M. Cabilida the late president of multiple Energy FM stations and a revered balak poet in the Philippines. His mentorship lit the spark that would continue to burn even after his passing.

When Mr. Cabilida passed away, Kemberly admitted she almost gave up. Her silence wasn’t because she stopped dreaming it was because grief spoke louder than her voice. But through grace and quiet strength, God redirected her path.

“Sometimes, your journey is delayed not because you're denied, but because you are being prepared,” Kemberly reflects. “My mother may not be here to witness this anymore, but I know she’s smiling from above. I carry her love in every note I sing.”

Her mother, Gemma Edullantes Delos Reyes, passed away before witnessing Kemberly’s success bloom. But the spirit of her guidance continues to echo through her work.

A Quiet Army of Believers

For the past 11 years, Kemberly has been quietly supported by a circle of believers family, close friends, and music lovers who never stopped rooting for her. These include her siblings, mentors, Peteros Music Studio, and the musicians and engineers who continue to help produce her work behind the scenes.

Many of them never asked for recognition but gave their hearts to her journey through emotional support, encouragement, prayers, and silent presence during her lowest moments.

“To those who supported me quietly, even when I didn’t believe in myself, you are the reason I’m still singing,” she said.

From Radio Booths to Streaming Platforms

After passing the KBP licensure exam in 2024, Kemberly became a Disk Jockey at Radyo Natin 91.9 Pagadian, under the Manila Broadcasting Company, allowing her to expand her advocacy not just as a singer, but as a voice for local musicians in Mindanao.

Under Mabuhay Music Group Inc., her song “Yaman sa Mundo” composed by Juvy Canlas is now nearing 100,000 streams across Spotify and other major platforms. What started as a whisper of a dream is now resonating across 70 countries and over 60 cities around the globe.

Her soulful 2022 cover of “That’s Why You Go Away” under Peteros Music Studio is another testament to her ability to move listeners not with high notes alone, but with honest, vulnerable emotion.

A Future Carved in Grace

From a girl once overlooked to a young woman finally seen, Kemberly Resentes is proof that slow growth is still growth, and quiet work still makes noise. Her journey is not just one of talent but of resilience, redirection, and remembering where she came from.

“I don’t sing to impress. I sing to connect, to heal, to give hope. This is not just for me this is for everyone who ever felt like giving up but chose to stay.”

And to anyone still wondering if their time will ever come, she shares this message:

“If God redirects you, don’t be afraid. Start your dream now. Be humble. Work silently. Let your purpose speak louder than your fears.”

To the ones who believed in her since the beginning this journey is yours, too.
