TABINA, ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR — In a continuing effort to promote peace and stability in the province, the 53rd Infantry “Matapat” Battalion, in partnership with the 102nd Infantry “Igsoon” Brigade and the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU), facilitated the turnover of 22 loose firearms and four explosives in Tabina, Zamboanga del sur.

The ceremonial turnover underscores the growing trust and cooperation between local communities and the government in its peace initiatives. The activity also signifies the public’s increasing confidence in the ongoing efforts to foster reconciliation and security across the region.

Highlighting the event was the signing of a Peace Covenant and the symbolic release of doves powerful gestures of unity, hope, and the shared aspiration for enduring peace in Zamboanga del Sur.
