Former Senator Bong Revilla Surrenders Following Issuance of Sandiganbayan Arrest Warrant

Former Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. voluntarily surrendered to authorities after the Sandiganbayan issued a warrant of arrest against him and several others in connection with alleged anomalies involving flood control projects.

According to reports, the arrest warrant stems from cases filed over the alleged misuse and irregular disbursement of public funds intended for flood control initiatives. The court found probable cause to proceed with the cases, prompting the issuance of the warrant.

Revilla’s voluntary surrender followed the court’s action, signaling his intent to face the charges filed against him. He is now under the custody of authorities as legal proceedings move forward.

The Sandiganbayan case is part of the government’s broader efforts to hold public officials accountable for alleged corruption related to large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly those meant to mitigate flooding and protect vulnerable communities.
