Fire Destroys Comelec and COA Offices in Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur

Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur | A fire broke out Wednesday morning, engulfing the offices of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and the Commission on Audit (COA) in the municipality of Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.

As of press time, firefighters continue to battle the flames, which quickly spread through the government compound, damaging vital documents and equipment. Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire, and an official investigation is now underway.

Municipal officials, along with representatives from Comelec and COA, are assessing the extent of the damage and its possible impact on public services and upcoming electoral processes.

No injuries have been reported, and the full scope of losses remains to be confirmed.
