The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office VIII has mobilized to assist communities affected by the magnitude 7.4 earthquake that struck Davao Oriental on Friday morning. The tremor was also felt across Eastern Visayas and nearby provinces.

Prepositioned relief supplies worth ₱236.37 million include over 125,000 food packs and 22,000 non-food items such as hygiene, sleeping, and kitchen kits.

The DSWD is closely coordinating with local governments to ensure swift aid delivery and continuous monitoring of affected areas. The agency urged residents to stay calm, heed official advisories, and avoid danger zones.
