Drug Buy-Bust in Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur Nets 23-Year-Old Suspect

 Authorities arrested a 23-year-old man during a drug buy-bust operation conducted at around 9:06 PM on July 7, 2025, in Barangay Poblacion, Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur.

The suspect, who is currently unemployed and identified as a Street-Level Individual (SLI), was apprehended by joint operatives from the Lapuyan Municipal Police Station (MPS) and the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit 9 (RDEU9) – Team ZDS.

Seized during the operation were the following items: One (1) small and one (1) medium heat-sealed sachet of suspected shabu, One (1) Android mobile phone, One (1) colored pouch, and Marked money used during the transaction.

The recovered drug evidence will be submitted to the Zamboanga del Sur Forensic Unit at Camp Reginaldo C. Abelon for laboratory examination.

The suspect is currently under the custody of the Lapuyan MPS for proper documentation and filing of appropriate charges in violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to intensify anti-drug operations in the region to combat illegal drug activities and ensure the safety and security of local communities.
