ZAMBOANGA CITY — The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is urging local government units (LGUs) to explore available technologies and formally express their intent for possible technology transfer during the HANDA Pilipinas: Mindanao Leg 2025, scheduled for September 23–25 at Palacio del Sur.

Technologies classified as “for public good,” particularly those intended for disaster preparedness, emergency response, and relief operations, will be offered free of charge and without royalty fees, the agency said.

In a media briefing at Kapihan sa Rehiyon Nueve, DOST Assistant Regional Director Ricardo J. Apolinario III underscored the department’s commitment to work closely with all sectors of the community. He also highlighted the availability of scholarship programs and other services, encouraging students, professionals, and interested individuals to visit their nearest DOST office to learn more and avail themselves of these opportunities.

The three-day event forms part of DOST’s ongoing initiatives to strengthen community resilience, foster innovation, and empower local stakeholders through science and technology.
