The Department of Justice is still awaiting a court directive before it can request the issuance of an Interpol Red Notice against former Presidential Spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque.

During the DOJ’s budget hearing earlier today, officials were pressed for updates on Roque’s case, in connection with last year’s raid on a POGO hub in Porac, Pampanga.

DOJ Spokesperson Atty. Polo Martinez said the department cannot move forward with placing Roque on the Interpol list or cancelling his passport without a formal order from the court.

Roque is facing charges of qualified human trafficking and human trafficking for his alleged involvement, not only as legal counsel for Whirlwind Corporation the company that leased the compound used by the raided Lucky South 99 but also for his supposed participation in activities linked to the operation.

In May, a regional trial court in Pampanga issued an arrest warrant against Roque after finding probable cause for violations of the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2022

Roque remains in the Netherlands as legal proceedings continue.
