Death Toll from Cebu Earthquake Lowered to 68 — NDRRMC | People’s Press PH

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) has revised the reported death toll from the September 30 Cebu earthquake, lowering the figure from 72 to 68.

According to the agency, the updated number comes from the Management of the Dead and Missing (MDM) cluster, which operates under the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). Officials explained that the adjustment was made following a validation process, ensuring that only fatalities with complete documentation, including death certificates, are officially recorded.

Meanwhile, the Cebu Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) has reported a separate tally of 73 deaths.
