The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested contractor Sarah Discaya on Wednesday night following the issuance of a warrant of arrest in connection with a ₱96.5-million alleged ghost flood control project in Davao Occidental.

Discaya was immediately subjected to booking procedures and a medical examination before being transferred to the NBI detention facility in Muntinlupa City.

Authorities said Discaya is expected to be brought before a court in Cebu City to face charges for violations of Republic Act No. 3019, or the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, as well as malversation of public funds.

According to NBI spokesperson Atty. Palmer Mallari, bail for the Anti-Graft charge has been set at ₱90,000, while the malversation charge is non-bailable.
