Authorities from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) have arrested content creator Mike Romero following a controversial social media post deemed a threat against President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

The post in question featured a photo accompanied by the caption “Headshot”, with an arrow pointing from the word “Bogo” (a Cebuano term meaning “fool”) toward the President. The image quickly drew public attention and condemnation for its perceived malicious intent.

Although Romero later edited the caption a few hours after uploading it, he reportedly did not remove or alter the image itself, which continued to circulate online.

The NBI is currently conducting an investigation to determine Romero’s motives and possible violations of cybercrime and national security laws.

Officials have reminded the public to exercise responsibility and caution in posting on social media, particularly when addressing sensitive topics involving national leaders.
