The Bureau of Customs (BOC) and the Land Transportation Office (LTO) have signed a Memorandum of Agreement to tighten the registration process for imported vehicles and curb smuggling.

The deal promotes data sharing and the creation of a Joint Task Force to monitor and act against smuggled or misdeclared vehicles.

During the signing, the LTO turned over a seized Lamborghini Urus from Bonifacio Global City to the BOC for legal processing.

BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno said the move supports President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to boost transparency, strengthen inter-agency coordination, and ensure that taxes are properly collected for public benefit.
