On September 4, 2025, Jovanni’s remains were discovered by a local fisherman and later retrieved through a coordinated effort by the Vincenzo Sagun Municipal Police Station, Rural Health Unit, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, and the Philippine Coast Guard.
