Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur — A manhunt is underway following a daring pre-dawn robbery at Gaisano Capital Mall in Pagadian City, which left two jewelry shops ransacked and vaults forcibly opened.

The incident occurred around 2:45 AM on Thursday, July 31, 2025, prompting immediate police response after reports of a break-in and theft at the commercial establishment located in the San Pedro District.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers from the Pagadian City Police Station (CPS) discovered signs of forced entry at two jewelry stores  Sophia Jewelry and Tie Zui Jewelry. Four vaults were found damaged and forcibly opened. Authorities have yet to determine the exact amount of cash and jewelry stolen.

Initial findings from the investigation reveal that the suspects gained entry by tunneling through the ground floor of the adjacent Mercury Drug Store. Police are currently pursuing three unidentified male suspects believed to be behind the crime.

The Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO), in coordination with Pagadian CPS, is conducting a comprehensive forensic investigation. Law enforcement has launched a hot pursuit operation in an effort to locate and apprehend the perpetrators.

Authorities assured the public that all necessary measures are being taken to maintain security and recover the stolen items. Further updates will be released as the investigation develops.
