The Philippine National Police (PNP) held its first command conference under the leadership of Acting PNP Chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. at Camp Crame today.

In his remarks, Nartatez emphasized the importance of ensuring preparedness for the upcoming first Parliamentary Elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). He assured that the PNP will work closely with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) to safeguard clean, orderly, and peaceful polls.

The transition of police personnel in the province of Sulu following its inclusion in Region 9 or the Zamboanga Peninsula was also among the key issues discussed during the meeting.

Nartatez further highlighted the need to strengthen personnel management, financial systems, and overall resource allocation within the police force. He also directed commanders to enhance police operations and improve risk management strategies in their respective jurisdictions.

The command conference began earlier this morning, with Nartatez meeting 18 regional directors along with 96 senior officers representing various PNP command groups.
