A New Voice Rising: Yudino Explores Love, Identity, and Rebirth Through Sound

In the dynamic landscape of Original Pilipino Music (OPM), a fresh voice is emerging from behind the scenes. Mindanao-based R&B and pop artist Yudino introduces himself to the public with his deeply personal debut album, Loverboy a narrative-driven project reflecting years of emotional growth, artistic evolution, and self-discovery.

Before stepping into the spotlight as a recording artist, Yudino honed his craft as a songwriter and producer, working with notable performers such as Sarah Geronimo and Nick Makino. These years behind the scenes allowed him to develop a nuanced understanding of the music industry while shaping his own artistic voice.

“I’m Yudino, an R&B/Pop artist from Mindanao,” he shares. “My journey started behind the scenes as a songwriter and producer. Creating for other artists helped me understand the craft on a deeper level.”

The moniker “Yudino” marks a personal and artistic rebirth.

“Before this identity, I had a different name and version of myself,” he explains. “Over time, I realized I needed to evolve—not just musically, but personally and spiritually. Yudino represents that rebirth: a version of me that is more honest, aware, and aligned with who I truly am.”

A Life Shaped by Music

Music has been a constant in Yudino’s life. Growing up in a family of singers, he was surrounded by melodies and harmonies from an early age.

“My siblings and I were involved in choirs, and my father loves music,” he recalls. “My brother was a band frontman, and watching him perform had a huge influence on me.”

Over time, Yudino realized that music was not only a passion it was his purpose.

“Music consistently made me feel alive,” he says.

The Story Behind Loverboy

At the heart of Yudino’s debut is Loverboy, a four-chapter album chronicling nearly a decade of experiences navigating love, heartbreak, and personal awakening. Each chapter represents a distinct stage innocence, deep love, heartbreak, and self-realization while every track is rooted in real-life emotion.

“The title reflects a realization that love isn’t something you chase, but something you become,” Yudino says. “After everything I went through, I understood that the love I was seeking externally was within me all along. It’s not about finding love it’s about becoming it.”

A Sound That Evolves

Musically, Loverboy blends R&B, pop, hip-hop, and psychedelic elements, mirroring the emotional journey across the album’s four chapters. Each section has its own sonic identity, while Yudino’s voice serves as the unifying thread.

“The sound evolves throughout the album,” he explains. “Each chapter has its own identity, but my voice ties everything together.”

Crafting the Narrative

Yudino draws inspiration from everyday life, books, and films. He typically begins with lyrics, then builds the sound around the story, striving for authenticity and cohesion.

“One of the biggest challenges was aligning every song with a specific emotional stage,” he says. “Everything had to feel true to my experiences.”

Representing Mindanao

Building a music career outside major industry hubs comes with challenges. For Yudino, these obstacles became lessons in resilience.

“Coming from a place where the music scene isn’t strongly supported, I had to carve my own path,” he shares. “My sound may be globally influenced, but my journey is deeply personal and grounded in where I came from.”

Looking Ahead

While Loverboy marks Yudino’s debut as a recording artist, he views it as only the beginning.

“More music, collaborations, and performances are coming,” he says. “The goal is to grow continuously and reach audiences beyond my current environment.”

To supporters who have followed him quietly over the years, the album carries special significance.

“To everyone who has supported me thank you. I know I’ve been quiet, but this project is something I truly believe in. Loverboy is out now, and more chapters are coming. This is just the beginning.”
