ZAMBOANGA CITY — Ten Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) supporters from Sulu surrendered to authorities in Zamboanga Peninsula, turning over 37 firearms, ammunition, and explosives to the Police Regional Office 9 (PRO9).

The ceremonial presentation was led by PRO9 Regional Director PBGen. Eleazar P. Matta and RMFB 9 Force Commander PLtCol. Parson Asadil, with local government and agency representatives, including DILG 9, DOH 9, TESDA 9, DA 9, DSWD, DOLE, and PhilHealth, in attendance.

Authorities said the surrenderers will be given assistance to help them reintegrate into their communities.

Police officials stressed that the move highlights the government’s continuing effort to weaken terrorist influence and strengthen peace and security across the Zamboanga Peninsula.
