‘CAGANDAHAN BILL’ PUSHED BY AKBAYAN PARTY-LIST TO PROTECT INTERSEX PERSONS

Akbayan Party-list Representative Perci Cendaña has filed House Bill No. 5474, also known as the “Cagandahan Bill,” which seeks to make it easier for intersex Filipinos to change their name and gender markers on official documents without the need for court proceedings.

The proposed measure aims to uphold the rights, dignity, and recognition of intersex persons by simplifying legal processes that currently pose financial and procedural barriers.
