₱17.7 MILLION WORTH OF DRIED MARIJUANA SEIZED IN BENGUET; TWO ARRESTED

Bakun, Benguet — Police operatives from the PRO-Cordillera seized over ₱17.7 million worth of dried marijuana leaves and arrested two suspects during a hot pursuit operation in Barangay Gambang, Bakun, Benguet.

Authorities said the suspects, both male residents of Parañaque City aged 25 and 24, attempted to flee after evading a police checkpoint but were later captured in Sitio Mogao.

Confiscated from their vehicle were 127.67 kilos of dried marijuana in tubular forms, a sack containing 10.27 kilos, and a garbage bag with 10.4 kilos of marijuana leaves and stalks.

The suspects and seized evidence were turned over to the Bakun Municipal Police Station for documentation. Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) will be filed against them.
