SERVICE CONTINUES, EVEN AFTER THE CELEBRATION

THE RECENTLY concluded Pasalamat Festival once again brought Pagadian together in faith, gratitude, and unity. It was a moment of celebration for the entire city but as the lights dimmed and the crowds went home, the work of governance quietly moved forward.

True to the leadership style of Mayor Sammy Co, the city government wasted no time in lining up another people-centered initiative: Kasalan ng Bayan 2026, set on Valentine’s Day. For many Pagadianons, this is a clear reminder that public service here does not end with festivities—it continues with programs that directly touch lives.

Kasalan ng Bayan is especially meaningful for local couples who have long dreamed of formalizing their union but face financial and practical challenges. By opening the program exclusively to Pagadian residents and simplifying the process, the city government once again shows its understanding of the real situations faced by ordinary families in the city.

What stands out is the consistency. From faith-based celebrations like Pasalamat to family-focused programs such as Kasalan ng Bayan, the city’s initiatives reflect a governance approach rooted in values that Pagadianons hold dear faith, family, and community.

These are not one-time projects, but continuing efforts aimed at building a stronger and more united city.

It is no surprise that many residents now openly express hope that the kind of leadership seen in Pagadian will eventually be felt beyond the city.

The orderly planning, the concern for families, and the steady delivery of services have inspired calls for these good practices to be expanded and shared across the entire province.

In Pagadian, leadership is not measured only by grand events, but by what follows after. And time and again, the city government proves that after every celebration comes renewed commitment service that remains grounded in the needs of the people.
