IDGAD: Kemberly Resentes Unveils Her First English Single

Filipino singer and recording artist Kemberly Resentes has officially stepped into a new chapter of her artistry with the release of her first English single, “IDGAD (I Don’t Give a Damn)”, which premiered on January 15, 2026, at 11:00 PM across digital streaming platforms.

Recorded in September 2025 and finalized between November and December, IDGAD marks a bold and emotionally honest transition for Resentes, known for her heartfelt OPM and Bisaya releases. The song carries a powerful message of self-worth, healing, and reclaiming one’s voice after experiencing fake love, betrayal, and silent prayers for one’s downfall.

A Passion-Driven Collaboration

The single was brought to life with the help of J-Jekyll Magsanay, who served as the recording engineer and handled the vocal arrangements. Magsanay is also recognized as a producer of Chosen Worship PH, a collective known for its dedication to music with purpose and depth.

Joining the track as one of its second voices is Kirk Patrick Dumpit, an artist under Chosen Worship PH. Resentes and Dumpit’s musical connection dates back to the pandemic era, when they collaborated on a cover of “At My Worst,”which garnered significant attention and views at the time. Reuniting for IDGAD felt natural proof of a creative bond built on trust, growth, and shared passion.

Despite juggling their academic responsibilities, the team remained open, collaborative, and joyful throughout the process. Resentes shared that working with people who are passionate and dedicated makes the music “more magical and meaningful,” expressing her gratitude for their commitment despite busy schedules.

From Pain to Power

Resentes also worked closely with Yudino “Oding”, whom she first met during the Kahumayan Music Festival in 2022. For IDGAD, Resentes shared the emotional direction she envisioned rooted in real-life experiences of betrayal, fake relationships, and personal hurt. Rather than airing negativity online, she chose to channel those emotions into music.

Oding quickly composed the song, delivering the demo and lyrics that captured Resentes’ truth with striking clarity. The track was later remastered and remixed, her label Mabuhay Music Group Inc., which officially set the wider release date on January 25, 2026.

“I don’t want to post negativity on social media,” Resentes shared. “If there’s pain, I’d rather turn it into a song something people can relate to, something that heals.”

Fresh Finds Philippines Recognition

Shortly after its release, IDGAD achieved a major milestone by landing at No. 5 on Spotify’s Fresh Finds Philippines, an official editorial playlist curated by Spotify’s local music team.

Fresh Finds is known for spotlighting emerging and independent artists who demonstrate originality, strong songwriting, quality production, and cultural relevance. A Song for Those Who Chose Themselves

At its core, IDGAD is more than just a debut English single it is an anthem for those who have been hurt, doubted, or underestimated. It speaks to listeners who learned to walk away from fake love, fake friends, and silent negativity, choosing self-respect over explanation.

With IDGAD, Kemberly Resentes reminds her audience that strength doesn’t always need to be loud and healing doesn’t always need to be explained. Sometimes, it simply means reaching the point where you finally say: I don’t give a damn.
